Edge warranty

A shear that will not hold an edge is not a shear. This page says exactly what we cover and for how long, so there is nothing to argue about later.

Lifetime edge warranty

If your shear has a manufacturing defect or will not take or hold an edge, we repair or replace it for the lifetime of the product. We will ask you to send it back so we can look at it — not to make you prove anything, but because a blade that fails tells us something about our own process. Return shipping is on us for verified warranty claims.

Free first sharpening

Your first sharpening within 12 months of purchase is free. You cover the cost of getting it to us; we cover the work, the re-tensioning and the return journey. Most pairs come back with the edge they had when they left the bench.

What is covered

• Blades that will not hold an edge in normal professional use.
• Manufacturing faults in the pivot, tension screw or spring.
• Handle or finger-rest separation under normal use.
• Anything that arrives damaged, or not as described.

What is not covered

• Dropped shears, or blades that have been knocked against a hard surface.
• Cutting anything other than hair — paper, wire, plastic, thread and fabric all roll an edge.
• Corrosion left by water, disinfectant or chemical sterilisation.
• Sharpening or repair done by someone else, which changes the geometry we set.
• Normal wear: every edge dulls with use, and that is what the sharpening service is for.

How to claim

Email us from the contact page with your order number and a photograph or two of the shear. We will reply with instructions and a return address within two working days. Turnaround is usually 5–10 working days from the day it reaches us.

Your statutory rights

This warranty is offered in addition to your legal rights as a consumer. Nothing here reduces them, and nothing here limits our liability for anything the law does not allow us to limit.
